For Kristina Baktis, art is a conversation between artist and audience. Her multi-sensory, interactive pieces ask the audience to co-construct ideas rather than consume them. Born in New York, Kristina spent much of her life moving from one army post to another in the U.S. and Europe as a result of her father’s military career. Kristina draws inspiration from her experiences living within different cultures, her Eastern Orthodox Christian background and her relationship with her blind brother, Dimitri.
Kristina received her B.A. in Art, Design and Media from Richmond the American International University in London and is currently working towards a degree in Creative Arts Therapy.
