The Brooklyn Artists Gym’s mission of sustaining the needs of working artists extends to the function of the BAG Gallery. BAG Gallery supports emerging and established artists and curators whose work explores a wide range of artistic ideas.
The Gallery has developed a reputation for devotion to supporting artists who daringly ask tough questions and doggedly pursue perfection of their technical abilities. BAG Gallery also hosts shows curated by both staff and guest curators. Four times a year, the gallery hosts a salon featuring work exclusively by members.

Collaborations
On view Saturday, January 28th through Monday, February 6th. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
In Collaborations, artists and writers from the United States and abroad will showcase photographs, installations, textiles, woodcuts, collages, poems, and books. This exhibition offers insight into multiple approaches and motivations for collaborative projects. Some artists work with one another to increase experimentation, while others collaborate to solve a specific problem or to confront issues of the past and present.

The artists participating in Introductions have each received a BFA or MFA within the past two years, and many are also participating in Brooklyn Artists Gym’s ‘Recent Graduate’ program. For many of the artists, this is their first exhibition outside of an academic setting. Because the artists work in a wide range of mediums and styles, Introductions is a varied and dynamic show.
