Put Andy Warhol to shame! In this 3.5-hour intensive workshop, learn how to make your own silkscreening set-up that can run right off your kitchen table. Through the process of designing and printing on a tote bag or t-shirt, you will learn how to prepare a screen, transfer your image, and make your print from start to finish. Let us guide you through this notoriously tricky medium, so that you can print with confidence for all your future rockstar needs (…actual rock band optional)
Please bring: your ideas, artwork design/reference for what you might like to print (black and white only– bold graphic shapes work best), and additional clothing or items you may want to print on. You will be given t-shirts and/or tote bags to print on in class.
*Advice from a student: "The art [design]should be no bigger than half of a letter sized paper and if you want to skip the step of tracing the design, bring it already printed onto acetate."*
Your materials fee covers all printing supplies, provided by the teacher. You will go home with your t-shirts/tote bags, your screen, and a squeegee. Both screen and squeegee can be used again on your own. Please wear clothes that can get messy.
Course Fee: $60 Materials Fee: $40
